Recreational soccer is for players of all skill levels. There are two seasons a year. Both the Spring and Fall seasons will have eight to ten weeks of games.
The recreational program plays our games at the Greenwood County Civic Center. Games are held on Saturday mornings from 9:30am and usually run until around 12:30pm. Each team will play one game per weekend.
Training will be held at the Civic Center as well. Training is two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-7pm.
The recreation program is co-ed giving both boys and girls a chance to grow and learn the game of soccer.
We take a serious approach to Recreation soccer in our organization. We believe it is the basis for all other levels of soccer. We believe the players should have fun to encourage them to play soccer. We believe players will have fun when they have a balanced and competitive league.
In addition to players having fun, we believe that players and parents must be taught the game of soccer. Practice is as important as playing games in ensuring kids will learn the game and continue to play. We will encourage teams to practice twice a week to provide the necessary instruction for players.
Parents are encouraged to volunteer as assistant coaches at this level so that we can not only develop players but also coaches. All volunteer coaches will receive training through a Youth Module training course. Additionally, our professional and licensed coaches will assist these volunteer coaches when needed.
